The skills learnt in the design and manufacture of fiscal or custody metering packages are put to good use in the construction of loading and unloading skids. These systems can have harsh treatment in operation, and special consideration is given to ease of operation and accessibility.
For some applications, coriolis mass-meters offer a technical solution for metering of difficult fliuds. Oils with high viscosity and solids content can harm more traditional meters and fiscal accuracy can be achieved with careful system design. Coriolis or mass metering has come a long way since Alderley helped with its introduction to the North Sea in 1993.
Most larger fiscal or custody packages require some level of quality analysis. Alderley's turnkey solutions supply all these most necessary ancillaries.
Alderley have been amongst the first to apply ultrasonic flow metering techniques to gas and oil in custody and allocation systems. Our earliest ultrasonic gas systems date from 1995, and the liquid ultrasonic from 1997.
Our process capabilities include produced water treatment (PWT) and water injection systems.

Over the past 20 years, the hydrocyclone has become the primary treatment mechanism for free oil removal from oilfield produced water. Rising levels of environmental concern however have led to the need to meet increasingly arduous discharge limits, such that new complementary technologies must be used to supplement the hydrocyclone's performance and reduce not only the free oil levels in discharge waters but also engage the problem of dissolved hydrocarbon content.
Alderley have developed the AP-20 liquid-liquid hydrocyclone to ensure we can provide the most efficient solutions to meet the constantly reducing produced water discharge limits. The AP-20 is capable of reducing outlet levels of oil-in-water to less than half that of other hydrocyclone designs.
Where the ultimate goal is zero discharge, we have a range of products to meet the requirements. Alderley’s tertiary treatment range includes media filters, the COP System (coalescing filter) and absorption filters to reduce the oil levels in the produced water to below the required limits. Alderley’s H2S strippers provide removal of the highly corrosive hydrogen sulphide gas that can cause stress cracking, or more usually prevent H2S being discharged overboard into the environment.
A solids wash cyclone can be used to cleanse solids prior to disposal, recycling the material from the accumulator vessel as required to attain the desired level of cleanliness. A guaranteed level of oil entrainment on the solids can thus be maintained. Alderley’s solids treatment system design is such that these systems can be incorporated as necessary in the overall produced water treatment package.
In addition to our Produced Water Treatment capability, Alderley design and integrate complete Water Injection Systems for enhanced oil recovery, incorporating some of the Best Available Technology for each process item.
Specialised Management Services Ltd (SMS), are providers of hydraulic solutions to the oil and gas industry. Solutions supplied encompass the complete control requirements for onshore field, offshore platforms and pipelines, providing integrated systems designed to optimise oil and gas production.
The Chemical Injection Skid is designed to be installed on a fixed production facility, where the area is classified as �Zone 1�, �Gas Group IIB�, and �Temperature Class T3� environment where hydrocarbon gases may be present. The Chemical Injection Skid is designed for operation with Methanol fluids. The Methanol Injection Skid provides a supply of Methanol at 280 Barg at a calibrated flow rate up to 75 litres / hour.
Choke Control Packages are designed in house to SMS or Client defined specifications. Using the very latest design technologies and components SMS are able to offer high quality, well designed and constructed systems with a proven track record for being reliable and maintainable. This coupled with our favourable supplier framework agreements means we are able to fast track the delivery period and ensures we are able to meet your key project deliverables of cost, quality and delivery.
The Wellhead Control Panel (WCP) is designed to be installed on a fixed production facility, where the area is classified as ‘Zone 1’, ‘Gas Group IIB’, and ‘Temperature Class T3’ environment where hydrocarbon gases may be present. The WCP is designed for operation with mineral oil based fluids, typically ‘Shell Tellus T-15’ or equivalent.
