JF120 Passive Fire Protection

Alderley Materials Ltd (AML) offers the oil and gas industry specialist materials for blast and passive fire protection (PFP) of risers, vessels, ESDVs, other process equipment and structures operating at elevated or cryogenic temperatures.

Formerly ContraTherm® JF211, the main product developed by AML is an ambient curing phenolic resin based coating system called ContraTherm® JF120.

JF120 is a multi-functional materials system which combines:

Jetfire passive fire protection to 120 minutes

Hydrocarbon pool fire PFP

Thermal insulation

High integrity corrosion protection

Tolerance to elevated temperatures (up to 185 deg C)

Increased process operating temperatures can be accomodated utilizing insulation materials applied under the JF120 PFP system

Tolerance to low temperatures (down to -196 deg C)

JF120 has been applied to:

Hot three phase separators up to 185 deg C

Hot slug catchers

Hot flare knock-out drums

Hot risers

Underdecks

Flare stacks

Steel structures subject to thermal shock such as LNG plants

The material has a much wider tolerance to service temperature than conventional PFP materials.
